As it turns out, the secret to reading while simultaneously breastfeeding a baby is swapping out hard covers for a kindle. And here we are, seven books clocked in the first month of 2021. This is what I read, and of course a few thoughts.

The weather in St. Louis is crazy. It’s currently fall and temperatures have jumped 35 degrees in either direction and back again in a 72 hour period. Both kids have constant runny noses, and my husband and I are running on very little sleep this week in particular (hello, Election 2020!). A large bowl of chicken noodle soup with french bread for lunch has been soul healing.

I almost didn’t have time to post this week, because two babies with mild colds, but here we are. Today, I’m sharing a Top 10-er, I’m a huge fan of this soup and highly suggest it to anyone as a fall go-to. Also, I’m proud to say that my (almost) two year old daughter can now identify sage. Oh my heart.

One of my goals this year is to read 52 books. I’m thrilled to be able to say I just crossed the halfway mark, and figured I’d update you on what I’ve read so far and what I’ve rated each book. Maybe it’ll inspire you for your next read!

Oddly enough, of all the audiobooks I’ve listened to this year, I’ve found every single one of them to be extremely binge-worthy, but only a handful are actually worth recommending to you. Funny how that works, huh? Here are two of my recent favorites.
As of today, Missouri is rolling out Phase I of Opening Up. However, it won’t really change our day to day for the foreseeable future. Nomesie’s daycare still hasn’t decided when to reopen, my husband’s WFH situation isn’t changing, and our favorite SAHM activities (even simple ones like story-time at the library, splitting a croissant at a coffee shop, indoor play-spaces, etc.) are still a no-go.
